I'm not into trucks, but it doesn't look bad on the outside. How does Oppo feel about it?
I has the 150hp 2.3.

Is that one of the past two generations of Ranger we didn't get in the US?
![]() 08/31/2014 at 19:01 |

It is a facelifted version of this.

I'm no TruckYeah folk, but I always liked the Ranger. This one's nice, looks like one of the last models. Needs a Coyote 5.0 tho
Can anyone confirm, aren't the 2.3s the ones with 2 spark plugs per cylinder?

I like it. A little big for my taste in trucks though, but not bad.

Compared to "American" trucks it is a little on the small side isn't it?

*one of the smallest trucks of the 2012 year*
"A little big for my taste"

That's the Brazilian version of the old US Ranger, not bad.

I have no clue haha.

It was actually built here (found out now), we got the new one 2 years ago.

This is my taste:
I don't like trucks. Small, nimble, reliable, utilitarian ones though? Yeah, I'll do that.

Mmm, my dad had a blue one of those. Best work truck for a start up cabinet shop. Great little truck, he still regrets selling it

Strange how it has the even older Ranger interior.

"A bit big for my taste...." Hmmmm... not sure what you are looking for.
![]() 08/31/2014 at 19:38 |

Isn't it the same as the 2011 model?

3200lbs 2-seater pickup., manual transmission, totally stripped. Reliable inline 6 or inline 4. No back seats.
I don't like Pickups.

Rangers are pretty great. Few trucks I ever saw hit 500,000 at the Ford dealership other than them.

This is the 2011 interior.
And this is the 2001 interior, they aren't identical but more similar IMO.
![]() 08/31/2014 at 19:44 |

Yeah, they are quite similar. Too similar for a 10 year gap I might add.
![]() 08/31/2014 at 19:45 |

I had no clue they were this reliable.
![]() 08/31/2014 at 19:48 |
|
Agreed, I'd expect them to use the newer one at least.
![]() 08/31/2014 at 19:48 |

I do, but hey. Want to do a great burnout? 2 wheel drive PU does them like a boss.

But that's just how Brazil works, we had the Golf Mk4 and about a billion facelifts and then they decided we deserved the Mk7.

Jeez, at least you don't have the Nissan Tsuru and the VW Citigolf problem. Or do you have both, Haha?

I don't know the reliability for every generation, but I saw well maintained 90s/early 2000s ones last a LONG time.
![]() 08/31/2014 at 20:00 |

We never had those, even in their first years haha. Also, the base model Golf costs 30k USD and the GTI 50k here.

My 1994 Ranger had the 2.3, and it used 2 plugs per cylinder. I'm not sure if ford kept up with that on the newer ones.
![]() 08/31/2014 at 21:42 |

I like the new front end. Its too bad they won't sell them in the US. They last forever, if they're maintained properly.

Thank you for explaining that. I was confused why the rear end looked exactly like the last gen sold here in the states.

My best friend has a '96 with 265k. He's also a semi-bad vehicle owner, but he bought it from an old neighbor who took amazing care of it the first ten years.

Yes.....last time one came in for plugs I nearly burnt the fucker down.

Let's just be glad Ford didn't decide their v8 models needed the same spark layout
